How is this ranking made?

We score every broker on five criteria and weight them according to our methodology: regulation (30%), costs (25%), platform (20%), education (15%) and support (10%). Regulation weighs the most: a tight spread is worthless if your money isn't safe. Brokers cannot buy a better position.

What to look for yourself

  • Licence: always check it yourself in the regulator's register. Every broker page links to it directly.
  • Total costs: look at spread plus commission, not just "0% commission". Watch out for inactivity and withdrawal fees too.
  • Platform: try it first for free with a demo account.
  • Loss percentage: every broker must disclose what percentage of retail accounts lose money. Take that figure seriously.

There is no best broker for everyone

A beginner benefits more from clear explanations and a simple platform; an active trader mainly looks at costs and execution. Use the broker matcher to see which broker best fits your situation, or see our lists for beginners and low costs.

Frequently asked questions

Which forex broker is the best?

It depends on how you trade. This list shows the highest overall scores under our methodology; the broker matcher helps you find a broker that fits your situation.

Do brokers pay to be listed?

No. We may receive a fee when you open an account via our link, but the order is determined by scores only.

How often is this list updated?

The ranking is built automatically from our current broker data. When a score, fee or licence changes, the list changes with it. The date of the last editorial update is shown at the top.
