Starting small: sensible, but no guarantee
A small first deposit limits how much you can lose while you learn. That is sensible. But a low entry threshold doesn't make trading less risky: with leverage, even a small amount can disappear quickly.
What to watch with a small account
- Cost per trade: on small positions, fixed costs such as a minimum commission weigh relatively heavily.
- Inactivity fees: if you leave a small account untouched, monthly fees can eat into your balance. Check after how many months they apply.
- Withdrawal fees: some brokers charge for withdrawals below a minimum amount.
- Currency: a euro account avoids conversion fees on deposits and withdrawals.
Practise with a demo account first and read how leverage works before depositing real money.
Frequently asked questions
Can I start forex trading with €50?
With the brokers in this list, yes. Bear in mind that leverage means you can lose that amount quickly, and inactivity fees can eat into a small balance.
Is a broker without a minimum deposit better?
Not necessarily. Also look at total cost per trade, inactivity and withdrawal fees, and the quality of the platform and support.
